Recording and Mixing Electric Guitar – Advanced
Only $2.95
This series will take you deep into the art and science of recording & mixing electric guitars. This is a massive topic and what we want to show you is a variety of the most popular ways to mic a guitar cabinet, and then show you how we would mix the sounds we get to achieve different types of tones.
When tracking guitars with a real head and amp (as apposed to plugins – which we love btw) you need to get the tone as close as possible to sounding like the finished mixed track. So in these videos we will show you that process in detail so you have several great techniques you can try out!
Watch closely and then try what we show you with your equipment.
Normally to record guitar cabinets in a professional environment you have to turn the volume extremely high and unless you’re in a proper studio (that would have very thick walls to handle isolating this extreme volume) it would be heard for several blocks. Plus plugins have come a long way and you can absolutely get pro sounding tracks from a variety of plugins. Check it out!
